FUTURE AWAKENINGS     The entombed kings who beneath us lie with uncrowned gaze and deafening sighs make the smoking vaults tremble where their bodies are stored   still bearing the royal power of majesty's sword,   enrobed in vestures of purple light restored to their thrones by a wizard's might. Raising their gilded scepters they subdue the rebellious earth, and the peace they bring touches each person from the moment of their birth.   Time regresses backwards now, as the future ceases to be; and all the things we know and love become ancient history. They recreate the world again into something more sublime; and life becomes free at last from death, and hate, and crime.   Then all the legends and stories that as children we once knew only as  fairytales will at last come true.       ©2006 Dwayne Pagnotto
